PROSPECT Hospice is set to open a new shop.
Volunteers will open the shop in Clive Parade, Cricklade Road, on Wednesday, July 15.
The shop will be the biggest of the Wroughton hospice’s nine outlets and will sell clothes, books, music and furniture.
Charly Rich, head of retail for the hospice, said: “The importance of the charity’s retail arm was reflected in the £900,000 contribution it made towards Prospect’s income last year.
“We are hoping that with the opening of the Clive Parade store, the hospice’s shops will bring more than £1m.”
The shops’ takings go towards the £4.5m annual cost of funding the hospice’s respite and end of life care.
Ms Rich said: “We have wanted to open a shop here for years and when the new outlet became available, we moved quickly to secure a lease.
“We know we already have a lot of supporters in the area, and were thrilled that so many responded to a call out we made for volunteers recently, many of whom will be helping to run the shop.”
