WHAT’S in a name? Myllo, the cuddly Yorkshire terrier with the unusual moniker, has solved the Pet Idol conundrum for owner Julian Head.
Myllo has won the coveted title of Swindon Advertiser Pet Idol 2009 after beating off some impressive competition. Pets were voted for in a phone poll and Myllo came top.
Julian, from Hampton Drive, Grange Park, explained that Myllo’s name was an anagram of the family’s other Yorkshire terrier, Molly.
He and wife Jacqueline also entered Myllo in the Pet Idol competition in 2007, when he finished third.
“We’re well pleased to come first. Both dogs are like our babies,” said Julian.
Julian said that both dogs were well known in the neighbourhood. Myllo faced some stiff competition this year with over 400 entries competing for the title.
“There were definitely more entries this year, and the competition was tough,” added Julian.
“We asked friends and family to vote for Myllo and even got people to vote for him at my work at Swindon Plumbing Supplies.”
Myllo has won £200 worth of vouchers courtesy of PetShed Ltd in Wroughton.
Julian said that he will be treating the dogs to new collars and leads in preparation for next year’s competition when he will be putting forward Molly.
