Rick Wakeman sets Wiltshire date

KEYBOARD king Rick Wakeman is making a return visit to Marlborough in December and will be giving two performances at the College Memorial Hall.

Wakeman, who formerly played keyboards for the Strawbs and Yes, makes no secret of the fact that he likes performing in Marlborough and has appeared in concerts in the town in 2000, 2005 and 2006.

Paul Chandler, of Moonraker Events, who is promoting Wakeman’s return visit on December 19 and 20, said: “After a three-year break Rick Wakeman is set to return to Marlborough for two very special Christmas concerts.”

Also on stage will be the English Chamber Choir, singer and guitarist Gordon Giltrap, his own daughter Jemma Wakeman and possibly his two sons Oliver and Adam.

Fans can not only watch Rick Wakeman in action in the Memorial Hall, they can also be at a Christmas party with him at the Marriott Hotel in Swindon at lunchtime on Sunday, December 20.

Tickets for the concerts are £27.50 and for the Christmas party £37.50 and can be booked on 01380 721347. More details about the events can be found on www.rickatmarlborough.com
