AN OLD Town doorman was assaulted after ejecting a troublesome group of men from a bar.

The unnamed member of staff, who was working on the door at Mackenzies in Wood Street, was attacked at 11.30pm on Saturday, December 19.

His injury was serious enough to require hospital treatment, said Detective Constable Matthew Lewis, of Swindon CID.

“This group had been causing problems to other customers in the premises that night,” added DC Lewis.

Mackenzies declined to comment.

Anyone with information about this incident can call DC Lewis on 0845 408 7000.
