POLICE have appealed for information about two men in connection with a theft from a Swindon shop.

The pair are thought to have stolen a £40 wiring harness for a car stereo amplifier from Discount Auto Parts, in Cricklade Road, Gorse Hill.

The theft took place at 8.30am on Monday, February 15, and the police say the two men made off out of the front door and ran down Edinburgh Street.

PC Stephen Yeates, the community beat manager for Gorse Hill, said: “They were the first customers in the shop that morning.

“A shop assistant had opened an alarmed case and they seemed like they knew what they wanted.

“Someone must know who they are, as I believe they are local men.

“I would very much like to track them down and educate them in the error of their ways.

“If you do know the identity of either of the men please contact us.”

The first man is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s, about 5ft 8ins and of slim build.

He was wearing black jacket with white bits on the sleeves and tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is white and in his late teens to early 20s.

He is about 6ft and of very large build.

He was wearing glasses and a dark grey jumper with a lighter grey horizontal bar across the chest. Both men had short brown hair.

Any information can be passed onto PC Yeates on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously if you wish.
