A charity medical training event is taking place in Swindon on Saturday.

The Meditec Training event is designed to give members of the public a chance to learn basic life support training as well as raising money for two Swindon charities – the Swindon Therapy Centre for MS and the Swindon Youth Mentoring Project (SMASH).

For a minimum donation of £5, participants can learn about what to do if someone is choking, CRP, resuscitation and casualty assessment.

All of the money raised on the day will be split between the two charities and people taking part will also be presented with a Basic Life Support charity certificate.

The sessions, which usually cost £40, are approximately one hour and 20 minutes and will run from 10am to 11.30pm, noon to 1.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm and 4pm to 5.30pm.

This event will be hosted at Eldene Community Centre and refreshments, such as tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available on the day.

In order for people to secure a place on any of the day’s training sessions, they will have to email andy.memory@meditec-training.co.uk.

Or contact the company via their website at www.meditec-training.co.uk .

The session availability will be on a first come, first served basis.
