MP to speak at Amnesty meeting

ANNE Snelgrove will be appearing at a Swindon meeting of Amnesty International.

The South Swindon MP will attend The Swindon Amnesty Group’s meeting at the Friends’ Meeting House, in Eastcott Hill, on Thursday.

Although the discussion will largely revolve around issues of human rights, there will also be time for other questions.

The meeting will be preceded by a planning session, starting at 6.45, to which all group members are welcome.

A report about the previous meeting which featured the Conservative’s South Swindon prospective MP Robert Buckland will soon be available on www.swindon.amnesty.org.uk Amnesty is also looking for volunteers to serve beer at a variety of festivals this year.

Volunteers will work shifts for the Workers Beer Company, get free entry to the festival, and Amnesty gets paid for the hours you work.

Festivals include Glastonbury, Reading, Latitude, Greenbelt, Tolpuddle and Proms in the Park.

For a full list of events and terms and conditions, contact emmabushell@yahoo.co.uk.

The group also wanted to thank and congratulations to Jo and friends in Marlborough who raised just under £550 at their February Barn Dance.

Should be facinating to hear the views of a woman who's done so much for us.
.
*cough*

Amnesty International are well known for their political views over that of people. They are always more concerned at interfering in the politics of other countries than actually saving lives. Not surprising that odious woman would align herself with them. Roll on May when it will be thank you and good night to her and that other idiot who allegedly are working for the interests of the people of Swindon - Not!

Perhaps while she's in the Old Town area she could have a quick look round at all her planned 'improvements' the residents are paying very dearly for..

..wait, there aren't any... nothing happened except we are paying over three times as much for permits.

I wonder where the money went.

wouldn't she be better to talk to the swindon victims of crimes?
She is an MP not an international UN representative, she was elected to take care/represent Swindon citizens, not the third WORLD!

She is planning her future for when she leaves parliament--must be a highly paid board seat on offer?

Amnesty International are renowned for their anti-semite views and the lies that they tell. No wonder Smellgrove wants a bit of the action.

Whatever happeend to the whales, Anne?
.
Did you save them all, or was it just another photo op and press release for the Adver to print as a matter of extreme urgency?
.
As for Amnesty International, it's a political pressure group driven by people with a highly suspect agenda. Any credibility they may have once had was lost many years ago.
.
Still, I'm sure they'll all sing a song about 'Mandela' and everything will be right in the world...
