MP to speak at Amnesty meeting

4:00pm Tuesday 9th March 2010

ANNE Snelgrove will be appearing at a Swindon meeting of Amnesty International.

The South Swindon MP will attend The Swindon Amnesty Group’s meeting at the Friends’ Meeting House, in Eastcott Hill, on Thursday.

Although the discussion will largely revolve around issues of human rights, there will also be time for other questions.

The meeting will be preceded by a planning session, starting at 6.45, to which all group members are welcome.

A report about the previous meeting which featured the Conservative’s South Swindon prospective MP Robert Buckland will soon be available on www.swindon.amnesty.org.uk Amnesty is also looking for volunteers to serve beer at a variety of festivals this year.

Volunteers will work shifts for the Workers Beer Company, get free entry to the festival, and Amnesty gets paid for the hours you work.

Festivals include Glastonbury, Reading, Latitude, Greenbelt, Tolpuddle and Proms in the Park.

The group also wanted to thank and congratulations to Jo and friends in Marlborough who raised just under £550 at their February Barn Dance.
