RAILWAY enthusiasts have a chance to celebrate the 50th birthday tomorrow of one of Swindon’s best-loved locomotives at Steam.
The Evening Star returned home to the town in September 2008 and now takes pride of place on the recreated Station Platform at the Kemble Drive site.
Anyone who worked on the loco is being urged to talk about their experiences at the birthday party.
The event, throughout the day, will allow former workers to share their memories with each other and also with visitors.
There will also be family fun activities, the chance to meet Steam volunteers and to actually climb aboard the locomotive.
