School expansion approved

MORE than 200 extra children will be able attend a Swindon school after councillors backed expansion plans.

Drove Primary School will grow from 420 to supporting 630 children, aged between four and 11, after a meeting at the Civic Offices on Wednesday.

This will enable it to become a three-form entry school.

It comes after an increasing birth rate from 138 pre-school children registered at the school in 2008 to the 195 which are now expected in September 2010.

The increased number of children will lead to an increase in the number of teaching and support staff. Classrooms are also to be refurbished.

How many more cars will be then be driving around drove school during school times?
Is there any plan in place to make the road system to cope with this extra traffic?
once again, poor judgement and lack of inter services coordination at the council.
What a great mess we are paying our councillors to do
ELECTIONS NOW!

Maybe the people live locally and walk ??
.
I guess the alternative would be to make the kids go across town to schools with spare places - this way we could guarantee there would be more cars on the roads !
.
Think about it ?!?
