MORE than 200 extra children will be able attend a Swindon school after councillors backed expansion plans.
Drove Primary School will grow from 420 to supporting 630 children, aged between four and 11, after a meeting at the Civic Offices on Wednesday.
This will enable it to become a three-form entry school.
It comes after an increasing birth rate from 138 pre-school children registered at the school in 2008 to the 195 which are now expected in September 2010.
The increased number of children will lead to an increase in the number of teaching and support staff. Classrooms are also to be refurbished.
