CHILDREN in Need’s Pudsey Bear was spotted during a recent farmers’ market at Swindon’s Wharf Green.
He was there to receive a £909.50 cheque raised by businesses in the Brunel Centre.
During the festive period children from all over Swindon queued up to meet Santa in his magical grotto.
Town centre management company inSwindon donated 50p of every entrance fee paid to BBC Children in Need, which improves the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the world.
Pudsey was delighted by the amount on the cheque, which was handed to him by local TV and radio broadcaster Kirsty Heber-Smith. Pudsey took time out of his busy schedule to not only collect the cheque, but also to meet shoppers, children and traders from the farmers’ market.
Susy Johnson, marketing and events officer for inSwindon, said: “It’s always lovely when a really famous character comes to visit Swindon’s town centre, but it was particularly special to have Pudsey here, knowing that these donations are going to such a good cause as Children in Need.”
