Swindon jobseekers can volunteer at park

SWINDON’S jobseekers can spend some time by volunteering at Pentylands Country Park.

The Highworth beauty spot is home to more than 1,000 trees including 100 saplings planted last year. Voluntary preservation group the Friends of Pentylands Country Park recruits young volunteers who are not in education or employment, aiming to help them do something valuable with their time.

Green-fingered helpers work throughout the year to tend to saplings, monitor growth and and plant new trees. The country park is community-funded project and is always in need of volunteers and donations. To support the project call on 07968 640136.

What no comments on this one? Probably because no one could stop laughing long enough to type when they saw the words "jobseeker" and "volunteering" in the same sentence! There's a non starter if ever I saw one!
