A SWINDON nightclub was taken over by ladies in red for heats of the Miss England competition.
Women, aged between 17 and 24, from all over Wiltshire turned up to vie for the titles of Miss Swindon and Miss Wiltshire.
They were interviewed by judges to decide who would go through to the on-line voting section and the finals will be at the same venue – Liquid and Envy in Havelock Square – in May.
Those who make it through to the next round will have their pictures put on line for a public vote.
One of the judges was last year’s Miss Wiltshire winner, Elishma Fernandes.
She said: “I know how they feel – it’s nerve-wracking.”
Others on the panel included Swindon councillor Justin Tomlinson, DJ Mark Eteson, Julian Clarke of Goldworthy’s hair salon and Swindon Advertiser features editor Jaine Blackman.
