Swindon Designer Outlet will be celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Great Western Railway this August bank holiday weekend.
Special heritage tours of the outlet will take place throughout Saturday, giving visitors the chance to take a trip back in time to the days when the centre was an operational railway works.
The tours will provide a rare glimpse into the lives of the men and women who built, operated and travelled on the steam trains.
Nick Williams, the marketing manager at Swindon Designer Outlet, said: “We want our shoppers to appreciate the history of the outlet and the heritage tours will give them a unique insight into the railway works where many of the best steam locomotives in the world were built.
The centre tours will take place at 11am and 3.30pm, starting at the crane in the South Mall.
