THIEVES have left bride-to-be Leah Brown devastated after stealing her bridesmaid dresses from her car on Tuesday.

Leah, 22, from Toothill, had left her car for just 30 minutes in the Pavilion opposite where she works at Nationwide, when a hooded thief entered the car park and broke into a total of four cars.

When Leah returned to her Ford Focus at 3.30pm, she found two bridesmaid dresses she had bought just two days before in preparation for her May 2011 wedding to fiance Dan Gough, had been stolen.

Two satellite navigation systems and a number of CDs were also taken.

“I’m distraught,” she said. “At first I was shocked, I just couldn’t believe it had happened because I had only been gone half an hour.”

To make matters worse, when Leah rang Debenhams where she had ordered the £40 ivory-coloured dresses, she was told the line had since been discontinued and she would not be able to buy replacement dresses.

Anyone with any information on the thefts should call police on 0845 408 7000.
