TINY tots in Toothill have been given a windfall of £1,200 to buy new toys for their toddler group.
Toothill Tinies Toddler and Baby Group, which is based at Toothill Church, received the helping hand from the Baptist Union of Great Britain.
The group was set up in April by Rachel Mcbeath, Titch Cottell and Clare Smith.
Clare said: “We originally belonged to the Natural Childbirth Trust group and when that closed we thought it was a good space, so we started the toddler group.”
She said that the group has used some of the money to buy new toys and the rest will go towards paying rent and heating the church throughout the winter months.
“We had nothing when we started so we have bought a work bench with tools, dressing-up clothes, a slide, baby toys, puzzles and books,” said Clare.
The group has about 10 regulars who meet every Thursday from 10am to 11.30am in the church, but Clare says they would like more people to join in the fun.
“We are based in a church but we are not a purely religious group. We are open to everyone,’’ she said.
“The Rev Ann Carter from the Toothill Church occasionally pops in to tell Bible stories and songs.”
Toothill Tinies is also open during the school holidays.
Anyone wanting to join the toddler and baby group should visit toothillchurch.org.uk or email tinies@toothillchurch.org.uk.

And church groups understand and are sympathetic to the difficulties of life and raising children.
*
The group work hard to raise funds and keep the facility open.
*
The more people attend the more successful the group will become!Lets hope it keeps running to provide the residents of Toothill support.
