Volunteers on a sponsored walk for Help for Heroes charity will break their journey to tuck into a hearty breakfast cooked by an army veteran.

Kayleigh Rawles, Will Palmer, Charlie Munro, Allen Fuller, Shane Weller and Bob Jones are walking from Bridgwater in Somerset to Buckingham Palace passing through Wootton Bassett and then staying overnight in Swindon.

Winston and Sue Castle, who run the Jessamine Cottage Bed and Breakfast in Drove Road, are pleased to lend the walkers a helping hand by offering a bed for the night on their 150-mile journey.

“Kayleigh approached us last week and of course we are delighted to do our bit for Help for Heroes,’’ said Winston.

The walkers will arrive in Swindon on Saturday, September 18, and will be back on the road to London after breakfast at 8am on the Sunday.
