MARATHON man Mike Buss was back on the treadmill again yesterday.
He has already broken the world record for running the most consecutive marathons raising thousands of pounds for injured servicemen but still has dozens of marathons to go before beating his Heroes 100 challenge.
Mayor of Swindon Rex Barnett went along to Swindon Designer Outlet in Rodbourne where Mike was pounding the treadmill, to lend his support.
Mike, 36, from Highworth is trying to beat 100 marathons in 100 days for the Help for Heroes charity.
Coun Barnett said: “When I was deputy mayor I started Mike off on his first treadmill for a 24-hour challenge, so I have been reuniting with him as he continues his quest.
“I have seen his feet – sometimes they are raw with running.’ Mike spent 10 years in the army and he has a two-year-old son, Ethan. He has lost more than a stone since beginning his challenge in June and eats 4,000 calories a day to cope with his punishing regime. He is running a marathon daily at the Designer Outlet until Sunday on a Star Trac treadmill and he has a spare for anyone who would like to come down and run a couple of miles with him for a small donation. Mike said: “I’ve worked so very hard for this and had to endure some heavy personal sacrifices, but it will be well worth it when I eventually hit my £1 million target for Help for Heroes.”
His final marathon is due to be on September 23 at the NEC, near Birmingham, at the Leisure Industry Week show.

So when you see the headline Marathon man gets Mayor's backing Why did you open it and then read it. This site has some right fools. Show the guy some support for what he is doing. For a great cause as well. May be you do not support the Help the Heroes charity?

Red Man wrote:"this site has some right fools"... certainly does Red Man and none more so than you... I have recently, and probably will do again, contribute to HTH but..Gooey has a valid point - I too am fed up with seeing Mike Buss featured almost daily - we know he's a fit guy...we know he's running a 100 maarathon's in 100 days, we know he's raising money for a good cause but hey give it a rest Adver! People like me or others that have given won't give any more just because MB runs another one!...and over-publicity can become counter productive!
