New College has teamed up with Wiltshire Wolves to create the county’s first basketball academy.

Students who enrol into the academy will receive top basketball coaching from the Wiltshire Wolves coaches, timetabled alongside their academic subjects.

They will have the opportunity to play matches in the England Basketball National League, as well as develop their own coaching skills.

Colin Smith, chairman of Wiltshire Wolves, said: “Wiltshire Wolves have been committed to ensuring that Wiltshire benefits from the same basketball opportunities as other counties, and this partnership with New College is absolutely ideal to make that happen.

“The facilities and reputation that New College have make them perfect partners for supporting the development of Under-19s basketball,” he said.
