Arrested men are dead man’s sons

the two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of Terrance Curtis, and later released without charge, are his sons.

The pair, who have not been named by police, were questioned for 36 hours before being released on bail on Thursday.

Terrance Geoffrey Curtis, 50, of Westcott Place, died at the Great Western Hospital on Tuesday night.

A post-mortem examination, by a Home Office pathologist, concluded he died as the result of head injuries.

Police were called to Mr Curtis’s flat by the ambulance crews and they arrested the two, aged 24 and 25, on suspicion of murder.

The Adver has been told that they are his sons.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said the forensic examination at Mr Curtis’s flat was now finished and officers had been carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

A major incident room has been set up at Gablecross police station and 15 officers are working on the investigation.

The police family liasion team have been in contact with Mr Curtis’s relatives, including his mother and a brother, and they have discussed funeral arrangements.

A former school friend of Mr Curtis, who had recently moved to Swindon from Cirencester, paid tribute to him and described him as a “hard worker” who loved his family.

Roland Hughes said: “I’ve known Terry for a long time as we went to Cirencester Deer Park school together.

“He was a lovely chap and he was a very good friend. He was a very bubbly person and he loved his family dearly. He was a hard worker and he was just a good person.”
