Nick's ready to run the length of the Thames

RELUCTANT runner Nick Jackson is pulling on his trainers to tackle the whole length of the River Thames.

Nick, pictured, will be running from the river’s source, near Kemble, on September 18 to the Thames Barrier, in London’s Docklands, on Sunday September 26, passing through Cricklade and Lechlade en route.

“I think a positive attitude can help achieve most goals, so I am hoping that it will get me through this run,” he said.

The 30-year-old, who works for Sony Music Entertainment, is hoping that others will join him in the quest or be there to cheer him on as he runs along the river bank.

One boatman is kayaking the full distance and at least 20 others will be pounding parts of the Thames Path but Nick will be stepping out for the whole 184 miles.

“The best part is that by running or walking, skipping or crawling with me, your friends and family will be able to sponsor you directly via the SceNick Run Team page on Virgin Money Giving,” he said.

Campaign aims to raise cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which is the 2010 Sony Music Entertainment charity.

Supporters can follow Nick’s route on the website or cheer him on in person by the river side.
