A FAMILY volunteering day will be held in the community wildlife garden at Abbey Meads Primary School on Saturday, October 16, from 10am to noon.
The event, supported by a Grassroots grant from Swindon Council, encourages parents and children to help maintain the garden and also to take part in fun activities.
The school is seeking volunteers to help remove the rushes from the overgrown ponds, rake-up the newly-cut grass and pull out willow herb.
Families can also take part in fun family activities, including a hunt for a mini beast, willow art and paint your pet rock.
Volunteers should wear suitable, old clothing. No unaccompanied children.
To confirm attendance, contact Roxanna Cox, community development worker, on 07966 023636 or community@abbeymeads.swindon.sch.uk.
