SWINDON’S four Rotary clubs will be enjoying a touch of pomp and circumstance next month with the Last Night Of The Proms concert taking place at the Wyvern Theatre.
This will be the fourth year of the fundraiser, which takes place on Saturday, November 20, and which will raise money for Help For Heroes as well as the mayor’s charities – Willows Counselling Service, Calm and Prospect Hospice.
The Waterloo Band of the Rifles, soloist Lynn Hawkins and Swindon Young Musicians will providing rousing music including Jerusalem and Land Of Hope And Glory and a number of jazz-based pieces.
Rotarian Bob Barrett, one of the organisers, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for some very worthwhile causes and enjoy the talented professional musicians of the amazingly talented Swindon Young Musicians. Swindon should be very proud of our young musicians.”
