HIP-HOP dance artist Banxy will help Swindon children improve their footwork when his street dance class returns to the John Moulton Hall in Penhill this month.

Banxy, who taught acts on Britain’s Got Talent, will work with children aged under 16 at the hall in Penhill Drive, on Thursday, January 13 at 5pm.

He was re-booked following the huge success of two pilot sessions held in November, which were attended by about 40 children.

Banxy, a former member of the breakdance group Swindon Scarecrows, has toured the world and worked with people like George Michael and Boy George.

Centre manager Mick O’Brien said he wanted to put on something for younger children and had been told street dance was a popular activity.

“I would like to make it a regular thing because most of the activities we have at the hall are predominantly for the older generation. I’m trying to get everybody involved and street dance seems to be the most popular way of doing that.”

Entry costs are £3 on the door. For more information, call the centre on 01793 723687.

The John Moulton Hall is also looking into starting street dance classes for adults, costing £3 for one hour. Dates and times are yet to be confirmed.

Anyone interested can drop into the hall for an enquiry form or call 01793723687 for more details.
