POLICE have been granted a 24-hour extension to hold the man arrested on susupicion of two murders, including Sian O'Callaghan.
A 47-year-old man, believed to be Chris Halliwell, was arrested outside Asda Walmart yesterday and has been in custody at Gablecross Police Station since.
A police spokesman said: "Please be advised that the 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion two murders has appeared in Swindon Magistrates Court today where an application was made for a warrant of further detention.
"As a result of which a 24-hour extension of detention was granted and the man remains in custody as Gablecross Police Station."
