THOUSANDS of tributes left outside the nightclub where murdered Sian O’Callaghan was last seen alive have been moved.

The makeshift shrine outside Suju in the High Street, which has been visited by hundreds of people since news broke last Thursday that Sian’s body had been found, has been carefully removed by Wiltshire Police with the blessing of Sian’s family.

The tributes, which include hundreds of floral bouquets, teddy bears, candles, cards, photographs and letters, were originally split between two spots on the High Street on Saturday to allow Suju to open its doors that evening.

The outside of the nightclub has turned into a place of reflection and of grieving for people who knew Sian and others who have been affected by the events over the last week. A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “The floral tributes have now been removed by officers from outside Suju nightclub in Swindon.

“This action was agreed by Sian’s family.

“The flowers will be distributed to care homes in the Swindon area. Any messages and condolence cards will be collated and given to Sian’s family.''

Along with the tributes left outside Suju, thousands of people gathered together on Saturday night to light up the sky with lanterns in a town-wide tribute to the tragic 22-year-old office worker held in the Polo Ground.

Collection buckets have also been handed around the town, as it is understood friends are gathering money to hand to Sian’s family who may choose to give it to charity. Various online tribute groups have attracted in excess of 40,000 members – giving friends the chance to share stories and memories of Sian.
