Greenbridge youngsters broaden their horizons

SWINDON children have travelled the globe this summer without even leaving Wiltshire. Dozens of children have taken part in Greenbridge Retail Park's Around the World summer school.

Children have played traditional Australian games, learned about life in Mexico, and studied African arts and Indian culture.

The activities, which have been spread over four weeks of the school holidays, formed the shopping park's fifth summer school.

It has become a popular choice with parents facing the daunting prospect of keeping youngsters entertained during the big break.

The workshops took place at Cannons, PC World and Chiquitos restaurant.

Centre manager Kay Rigg said: "This year's summer school offered children a chance to learn new things, socialise and have lots of fun while sampling exciting and exotic cultures of other parts of the world.

"Many Greenbridge outlets sponsored the classes by giving up their time and materials needed.

"Judging by the popularity of the activities it's something we will consider repeating next summer."
