After Swindon’s 1-1 draw away at Wimbledon last Saturday the club hasn’t tasted defeat in 10 games over a seven-week period, should we start planning our promotion parties for next April already?

Ok maybe that’s pushing it a little to far but after sitting through the first five months of 2011 its great to see the club moving in the right direction again under the management of a young passionate manager.

After a average 45 minutes last Saturday Town came to life in the second half and managed to snatch a draw with Alan Connell scoring the equalising goal.

In a pretty uneventful first half the main talking point was Di Canio not even waiting till half time to take off Raffaele De Vita.

As I’ve mentioned in the past I’m not De Vita’s biggest fan but even I’d have to admit his form has improved in the last month and it was disappointing to see him take a backwards step, but its still only a minor blip in his progression in midfield.

But his replacement Lander Gabilondo showed why he should start more games after his performance, which included the assist for Town’s goal.

During the week the club hosted a fans forum at the County Ground where fans could ask manager Paolo Di Canio or Interim chairman Jeremy Wray questions, if you haven’t hear it yet its definitely worth a listen on the BBC Sport website.

One of the talking points from the evening was the club possibly bringing in another striker on loan.

And after a busy day in the loan market did happen yesterday afternoon with the signing of Ipswich youngster Ronan Murray.

Ronan has agreed to a deal that will see him stay at Town till January 14th at least.

The other main rumour of the day was Charlton striker Paul Benson joining the club on loan after a move to Bradford fell through, but with no official news from either clubs it looks like Town might have run out of time to seal the deal.

This Saturday Town takes on Aldershot Town for the first time in the league since the Shots reformed in 1992.

So far this season Aldershot have had cup success after reaching the Carling Cup 4th Round which included a 1st round win over West Ham at Upton Park and a huge game at home to Manchester Utd.

But the clubs league form hasn’t been as exciting so far this season; they currently sit in 15th place in League Two.

Danny Hylton has been the clubs standout player after scoring 12 goals already this season, his talents haven’t gone unnoticed in other leagues with Peterborough admitting they are scouting the young forward with a possible bid in January.

Jermaine McGlashan and Luke Guttridge have also been important to Aldershot this season and its important Simon Ferry and Jonathan Smith (hopefully he’ll return) control central midfield and don’t give those players time on the ball.

On paper Town should come away with the three points this weekend, but as we all know sometimes Town don’t always raise their game when playing the smaller teams at the County Ground.

Lets hope Aden Flint can keep Danny Hylton quiet and we can come away with another three home points.
