One of the worst emotions a football fan can go though is conceding a last minute goal on an away day, and unfortunately if you made the trip to Bristol you know exactly what I mean.

The game itself wasn’t a straight to DVD classic at all and Town didn’t capitalize enough when we were on top, but the game wasn’t the main talking point after the match.

When Paolo Di Canio arrived in Swindon all fans knew or should of known he can be a little bit controversial in what he sometimes says, and unfortunately his reputation caught up with him in Bristol.

He said he needs another 4-5 players in the squad so he can make us title contenders or he’ll leave.

Personally I love seeing a manager with that sort of passion for his job and the club, as long as that can be contained by the club I think it can only be a good thing for Town.

I was a little confused when he said he needed another 4-5 players in his first team, I’m not sure apart from another wide man where those extra players are needed.

Last Saturday’s main highlight was of course Paul Caddis’s stunning solo run and goal, this season Paul’s efforts have sometimes gone under the radar and I think that’s a credit to how good a player he is.

Everyone who supports Town knows a bad game from Paul Caddis is as likely as Oxford finishing above us in the league, it just doesn’t happen.

At the start of his Town career he did look a little dodgy in his defending, but now he’s improved that part of his game and the club captain is an essential first team player.

His link up play with Ritchie and Ferry is key to any win we’ve had this season and keeping that trio together at the club during January is crucial for this campaign.

In other team news interim chairman Jeremy Wray has commented on Leon Clarke’s Town situation.

As we all knew already he won’t be returning to Swindon, and the club have had some enquires from clubs about buying the player, lets hope we can finally get some good news from this tragic transfer in January.

Also It’s looking like Michael Timlin will be leaving on a permanent deal in January to his current loan club Southend Utd.

As I mentioned last week I think this is an unwise transfer from Town and it would be better to recall him to the first team squad, lets hope this deal doesn’t come back to haunt us later in the season.

After weeks on the Road Town finally have a home game this Saturday and welcome Morecambe to the County Ground.

After a brilliant first two months of the season and finding themselves top of the league the Shrimps have had a poor run of results with only one win the their last 7 games.

It should be very interesting to see how the players react after last Saturday’s comments by the manager.

But after seeing what this team can do when on form I back them to get back on Paolo Di Canio’s Christmas card list by stretching the unbeaten run into a 15th game.
