YOGA, beauty therapy and massage were just some of the treats on offer at the Central Library as part of a health and wellbeing day.

The event, which was on Saturday, saw dozens of people finding out more about the benefits of raw food and massage and also taking part in NHS health checks.

It was organised by staff at the library, including library assistant and therapist Christine Gray.

“We wanted to try and do something for Swindon to get people into the library,” she said.

“We want to attract people who haven’t been in the library before and encourage people to take up library membership.

“I think people are surprised at what there is to offer and that it is free.”

Christine, who runs In Harmony holistic therapy, was giving visitors Indian head massages.

There were also health charity stands and information from Swindon Counselling at the event.

Among those enjoying the day was Miss Wiltshire, Jo Logan, who had her nails painted by Vicky Cole, of Vicky’s Beauty Treatments.

“I am enjoying being pampered and it is good that it is free,” she said. “It is a lovely event
