Children can learn to be team players during half-term

CHILDREN in Toothill have no excuse to complain they are bored this half term.

One of the first projects to be funded by the lottery-backed Toothill Million Big Local scheme is a half-term sports week.

Sports coach Phil Scarisbrick, of Grange Park, will host the week of events at Toothill Primary School.

The scheme is open to all children in years one to six and will run from Monday until Friday next week from 8.30am to 3.30pm.

Phil, of SuperSportsStars, is an experienced sports coach who runs sports courses and after school clubs at Toothill Primary, Shaw Ridge Primary and Ferndale Primary Schools.

The former Greendown and New College student, said: “Children will get the chance to experience a range of sports and receive specialist coaching from fully qualified sports coaches.”

Toothill Primary head Martyn Cowell said: “Children will leave with more confidence in themselves, make friends with other children attending and learn about playing as a team. They will discover how to encourage each other, play fairly and how to act when winning or losing.”

For more information about the week email Phil on info@supersportstars.co.uk.
