Swindon College will be offering advanced and higher level beauty courses from September 2012.
The college will be teaching a Level 4 Diploma in advanced beauty therapy and a Higher National Diploma in hair and beauty management will also be available.
The advanced beauty therapy course will allow students to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the skills required to work as an advanced beauty therapist.
Nikki Cripps, curriculum area manager for beauty therapy at the college, said: “This new course will allow learners to explore the physiology of ageing, the chemistry of hair and beauty products and relevant dermatology and microbiology.
“We are really excited to be able to teach our students new techniques including laser treatments and micro-dermabrasion.”
Students who choose to study for the HND in hair and beauty management will be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the workplace, and it will allow existing salon staff to take a step towards managing their own salon.
