Business as usual in spite of blanket of snow

A BLANKET of Snow may have covered Swindon yesterday but it was business as usual for commuters, pupils and motorists.

Snowflakes started falling at about 8pm on Thursday and temperatures dropped to below freezing, leaving the town covered in about 3cm of snow.

Patches will remain over the weekend but Swindon is not likely to get any more snow in the next few days, according to the Met Office.

A spokesman said: “On Saturday temperatures will struggle to get much higher than one or two degrees. It will be reasonably cold on Saturday night but a bit warmer by Sunday.

“There is a chance there could be some ice. With temperatures getting up a little bit the snow does melt and then when the temperature falls back down to minus it freezes.”

All schools were open and transport services were running as usual.

Swindon Town’s League Two fixture at Barnet today has, however, been called off following a pitch inspection at Underhill.

I am reliably informed it was minus 15 on Salisbury Plain Thursday night. Shame our Military aren't as prepared as above.

Yep about 3cm "not" 3ft.

You learn to cope, after all it's something that happens in Winter yet we still get peeps that fall to pieces over the old white flakes.

Oh dear Robbo it must be quite frustrating for you given that you are being prevented from having the run of these pages! Retorting to puerile insults I see.

Nothing puerile, sympathetic to your plight.

Is it beyond the wit of humans to keep on-thread, without descending into frankly boring personal vendettas and name-calling, per-leeeaassse?!

Drat!
I logged in as AG and made an incredibly funny joke.
Then I logged in as myself to empasise my joke, but scrumping foiled my plan.
I'll just have to be insulting till he goes away.
Everyone longs to hear what I have to say. Especially when I'm ridiculing our armed forces

Oh dear you really have no better retort do you? It was behaviour like this that has seen you banned from many many websites.

Only banned from one website Scrumping but we know accuracy is not your forte.

I've only been banned from one website.
Aren't I clever?
