TRYING a hand at plastering and taking part in beauty demonstrations were just some of the attractions on offer at Swindon College’s open evening.

The event, which took place on Wednesday, saw hundreds of people visiting the college’s North Star campus for a taste of the courses on offer.

Visitors were given the chance to try their hand at different trades, tour the college, and speak to lecturers about the courses on offer.

Amanda Burnside, director of marketing and services to students, said: “It has been a fantastic evening for visitors as well as our staff and we have had a lot of interest in the college.

“We have also been letting people know about our new A Levels which run alongside our Level 3 courses.”

Visitors tried plastering and brickwork and were treated to demonstrations from sport, beauty and media make-up.

The Art School was also open to showcase the students’ recent work, and staff and students were on hand to discuss university courses at the college in the dedicated Higher Education Centre.
