CCTV images of youths police would like to speak to in connection with the incident
WILTSHIRE Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to an assault outside the Empire Cinema.
At approximately 11.30pm on May 16, three young men from Lechlade left the cinema, on the Greenbridge Retail Park, after watching The Dictator and were attacked by about seven youths who are thought to be locals.
A 17-year-old was hit with a bottle and repeatedly kicked. Fortunately he sustained only minor injuries.
Inspector Charlie Ducker, of Swindon North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Wiltshire Police take such incidents very seriously. We want law-abiding people to feel confident that they can enjoy their leisure time safely and securely.
“Fortunately, such incidents are infrequent and we will deal robustly with those who fail to respect those around them.
“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or can help identify those responsible.”
If you recognise the people in the CCTV images or have any other information, please contact PC Troy Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers, where information can be left anonymously on 0800 555111.
