CHILDREN at Longleaze Primary School have been getting into the spirit of the Jubilee by creating bunting for one of the town’s supermarkets.

Sainsbury’s in Borough Fields, Royal Wootton Bassett, asked if the school would help create pictures to celebrate the Jubilee and decorate the store.

Yesterday, the piles of pictures were handed over to the store, which has made them into bunting and pinned the art up around the tills.

Kate Hopkins, administration officer at Longleaze, said: “The whole school was involved, and all the pictures were really different, showing how the children depict the Jubilee. Some drew Orick the Owl wearing a crown – he is our little mascot – others drew the Queen, there was lots of red, white and blue.”

Sarah Wilson, PR ambassador for the store, said: “The pictures look great – it was an idea our store trainer Liz Raymond came up with to decorate the store and make it look more colourful for the Jubilee.”

The pupils will have a tea party on Friday afternoon and a crown party with each making their own crown. Sainsbury’s will have a gazebo out front where they are giving away samples of typical British food.
