DETECTIVES in Swindon are appealing for witnesses after a 21 year old man was stabbed in the arm last night.

Police were called at approximately at 9.50pm to reports of a fight on Westcott Place.

The fight, involving a number of men and women, resulted in a 21 year old man sustaining a stab wound to his arm.

The victim refused treatment at the time and his injuries were not considered serious.

Detectives would particularly like to speak to a group of three white men who came to the assistance of those involved in the fight. They believe these three men could be vital witnesses and would like to speak to them urgently.

Detective Sergeant Don Pocock from Swindon CID said: “This was a fight that broke out between two groups, a group of white men and women who had just dined out at a local restaurant and a small group of Asian or mixed race men.

"We are trying to establish exactly what happened and what led to this disorder breaking out but we would like to hear from three men who were passing-by and came to the assistance of those involved in the fight.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the fight and may have seen the group of Asian or mixed race men running away.”

In addition, police are seeking an Asian man in connection with this incident, who is described as 5 ft 2 inches tall, slight build, aged in his early 20’s wearing a black t-shirt with the letters V O and I in red (VOI). He was also wearing blue jeans and black Adidas trainers.
