ONE Swindon Town fan will have good reason to to find the Euros even more exciting than all the other foodball-mad supporters.

Stuart Payne will be flying out to the Ukraine, meeting the England team and presenting the man of the match award on the pitch in front of thousands of fans, He will get his ‘if Carlsberg did’ moment after winning the chance to present the Carlsberg Man Of The Match Award at an England game at this year’s European Championships.

The 52-year-old, of Wilcox Close, was using a Carlsberg box to hold his paint while decorating his house when he saw the competition on the side of the box.

He entered the code for the free prize draw and thought nothing about it until he got an email saying that he had won the unique opportunity.

Stuart will fly out to Ukraine on Friday, June 15 where he will be whisked to England’s second group game in Kiev against Sweden.

Immediately after the big match, he will go behind the scenes at the stadium to present a specially commissioned trophy to the player voted Carlsberg Man Of The Match.

Stuart said: “It is quite surreal I don’t think it has really sunk in yet.

“I was absolutely gobsmacked to hear I had won the prize as I don’t win anything as a rule.

“I’m decorating at the moment and my wife had bought a crate of Carlsberg which I was using to hold the paint pot.

“I saw the code on the side which I entered, thinking I could only win some bunting or something and thought nothing of it.

“When I got an email saying I had won I did not even realise that was one of the prizes, so me being the cynic I am I contacted Carlsberg and they confirmed it.

“I will take my wife Hannah with me and I’ve never watched England abroad so I’m very excited. It will be different from watching Swindon Town.”
