Thank you all for a great jubilee

ROYAL Wootton Bassett residents and town councillors have thanked everyone involved in making the diamond jubilee celebrations in the town a success.

A diamond jubilee committee worked hard to organise a memorable High Street Festival last month, which featured entertainment, more than 30 stalls, displays, work- shops, and exhibitions.

A children’s fancy dress competition was popular and a tea party was enjoyed by more than 600 people.

Diamond jubilee committee member Liz Eastgate said: “It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves, entertainers, stall holders, exhibitors and volunteers, as well as the thousands of visitors. This happy occasion will always be remembered in our town’s history.”

The town’s churches staged floral displays and the town hall was swathed in an enormous Union flag.

The street party featured many people coming together to help out in high street.

Charity stalls were also well supported.
