Getting in touch with the other side from Swindon's Wyvern

Getting in touch with the other side Getting in touch with the other side

controversial TV psychic Derek Acorah comes to Swindon next week, for a show at the Wyvern.

The presenter, who describes himself as a ‘spirit medium’, has been seen on television’s Most Haunted and, more recently, on Derek Acorah’s Ghost Towns.

Acorah says his first supernatural experience came as a child when the spirit of his late grandfather visited him. When he told his grandmother she was not surprised, as she also considered herself to be a medium.

Acorah’s early career was playing football with teams such as Liverpool FC, Stockport, Wrexham and Glen Toran before leaving the UK to join an Australian team.

When his football career ended he returned to England to find a niche in life but was never settled. Eventually, he decided to make a living from his psychic abilities.

Tickets for Acorah’s show, which starts at 7.30pm, are £18 from www.wyverntheatre.co.uk.

I thought so too !! - read on -
TV Medium Derek Acorah, famous for his appearances on UK TV show “Most Haunted“ exposed himself as a fraud whilst filming at Bodmin Gaol. He overheard members of the crew talking about an inmate called “Kreed Kafer“, and, minutes later, became possessed by the ghost. However, “Kreed Kafer“ never existed and his name is an anagram of - "Derek Faker"

During the first episode of series 6 of Most Haunted, at Bodmin gaol, they finally broadcast something I had been waiting for, for months.

If you hadn't already realised, Derek Acorah had fallen for one of the funniest stitch ups ever.

When they were filming the episode, a couple of people decided to have a bit of fun and they created a character, a South African man called Kreed Kafer.

They deliberately talked about this fictitious character in earshot of Derek, hoping that he would use it during filming.

At the most they hoped he may say the name while "talking" with Sam, or round a Ouija board, but what they got was so much better, Derek actually became possessed by Kreed Kafer!

Of course there was no record of such a name, and LivingTV proudly put it on a caption that there was no records of such a person. They also spelt it Creed Kaifer, but as there was no records of this person, how would they know how it was spelt? So if you spell it phonetically as Derek pronouced it you get Kreed Kafer which was what was originally intended. Anyway at this point it was too late. As soon as they aired that clip, hundreds of people but the parts together and spotted something that just didn't fit

Kreed Kafer was the name spoken by Derek when they asked who had possessed him. But Kreed Kafer is an anagram of Derek Faker.

Now THAT would be impressive Beaulieu!

that's why I love Derren Brown so much as he exposes these frauds and even gives you the specific techniques they use e.g cold reading

Acora isn't even good at fooling anyone with more than one braincell. He's so vague it's cringworthy.

A quick look on the Wyvern website shows that the reason for this non-story is lack of ticket sales - the good people of Swindon can see through this. Although I have to confess to having been to see him in the past. I was dragged along by a friend and the evening was actually very entertaining - he even spoke to a dog and cow that night!! No really!!!

You would of thought a caring local newspaper would actively avoid publicising someone with his reputation?
