Student creates logo for carers

SWINDON Carers’ Centre has been given a new look, thanks to a Swindon College student.

The centre’s new logo has been created by graphic design student Charlotte Utton as part of her course.

SCC is rebranding following the launch of the Carers’ Trust – a merger of the Princess Royal Trust For Carers with Crossroads Care.

Swindon Carers’ Centre is affiliated to the Carers’ Trust but has a stand alone identity.

Fifteen students submitted designs to Swindon Carers Centre – those were narrowed down to eight which were voted on by carers, volunteers and staff at SCC.

Charlotte’s logo incorporates the S and two C’s of Swindon Carers Centre to form a figure hugging another character.

Diana Finch, the chief executive of Swindon Carers Centre, said: The new logo is great – simple, recognisable and meaningful. We’re so grateful to Swindon College School of Art and especially to Charlotte.”

Charlotte says “I really enjoyed this project and working with a ‘live’ brief with the Carers’ Centre.

“It has been a great experience and I’m looking forward to using what I have learned in the future.”
