Free parking for bicycles

Cycling charity Life Cycle is able to offer free cycle parking to community groups, small business and other small organisations in the area thanks to some funding from Swindon Council.

Two stands are available and are suitable for up to four bicycles.

The stands must not be installed on the public highway or be required as part of a planning application.

For further information and to apply, visit http://www.life cycleuk.org.uk/free-cycle-parking or ring Charlie on 0117 353 4580.

I am sure I wont ever be cycling to Swindon ok...make car parking free and I will start to come back into town to shop..until then, there`s little on offer there except Pound shops..sorry for seeming negative, but the shops in Swindon town centre really arent up to it.

Er... Is that parking for 8 bicycles or does it mean two types of standards are available for applicants to choose from!

I thought that's what lamp posts did. I think the traffic is bad enough in town without getting stuck behind a bike, at no time in the future will people stop driving there cars into town.

Can't people see that encouraging people to cycle will ease traffic congestion for those who will only drive?

Bikes on cycle paths make for quicker & safer roads, bike on any road makes for slower moving traffic, more crashes, more road rage you spend your time sat behind bikes who can't keep up with the flow of traffic try driving on any road from Highworth if you want the proof
