Garden centre chef hosts kids’ cookery classes

BUDDING young chefs from Swindon are being invited to a garden centre in the county to learn how to bake a selection of tasty treats.

The baking workshops will be hosted by David Warren, restaurant manager at Swindon Garden Centre, every Tuesday from August 7 until 21. Lewis Fox, manager of Swindon Garden Centre, said: “The Baking with David workshops have proved extremely popular in the past and it is a great way for youngsters to get involved with baking.”

On August 7, David will be teaching children how to make traditional shortbread and on August 14 they will be baking chocolate chip muffins. On August 21 youngsters will learn how to make flapjacks.

Each session takes place in the garden centre’s restaurant from 3.30pm onwards and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The workshops cost £5.95 per child, which includes a My Picnic lunch of sandwiches, snacks, desserts and a choice of fresh fruit. There is also unlimited squash for children and a complimentary tea or coffee for the accompanying adult.

Booking for the Baking with David workshops is essential.
