A CONVICTED robber proudly shows off his new tattoo in a macho pose uploaded to his Facebook page from behind bars.

Luke Jackel, who held up a man at knife-point in his own home, also poses with his arms folded by the prison’s pool table and by metal bars on a landing Talking in American street slang, he brags on his profile: “I gt da tat a day be4 i went pen [prison] g.”

Jackel also boasts about getting drunk in prison and staying up late, writing: “Im so ****n bord hurry up 2moz p*** up i tink ha ha.” In another status update he boasts: “In jail n up til 5ish maddness lol.”

Under another post a friend replies: “OMG...u can’t be on the phone in there u will get into trouble.”

Jackel also shows his contempt for the sentence, saying he will “ride it like a soldier.”

He writes: “F** them police and judge ha.”

The 22-year-old and his accomplice, Jake Bell, were jailed for two years and nine months when they appeared at Swindon Crown Court in February 2011. Bell, 21, picked up a knife at the victim’s flat in Devizes Road, Wroughton , and used it to threaten the man before taking cash, tobacco and possibly a small amount of cannabis. He also said he would “slice up” a barking dog in the living room and told the victim and his friends to “hand over everything.”

Jackel, of Park North and Bell, of Pinehurst , both admitted robbery.

The pair had been smoking cannabis and were on their way to buy more drugs when they committed the crime. Jailing them, Recorder Ian Lawrie said that they were “a feckless pair who hadn’t done a day’s work.” The Prison Service has an agreement with Facebook that active profiles will be terminated if they are found to belong to serving prisoners.

However, Jackel will escape punishment as he is understood to have been granted early release in recent weeks while the page was being investigated. A Prison Service spokesman said: “Prisoners have no access to the internet and are barred from updating Facebook while serving their sentence, or asking others to do so from outside prison.”
