Freemasons boost Wiltshire air ambulance
10:29am Thursday 9th August 2012 in News
FREEMASONS from across the area will be presenting the Wiltshire Air Ambulance with a cheque for £4,000 from their national charity next week.
The donation is part of the total figure of more than £1m donated by the Freemasons’ Grand Charity since 2007, providing funding to every air ambulance in England and Wales.
Air ambulances save the lives of thousands of people every year by getting doctors to patients in emergency situations, as quickly as possible.
These rescue services operate almost entirely from donations from charities such as that from Wiltshire Freemasons, as well as the general public.
Philip Bullock, information officer for Wiltshire Freemasonry, said: “We are delighted and proud to be able to support such an important service.
“The Wiltshire Air Ambulance plays a vital role in our community and helping local projects and services is important to Freemasons, which these donations demonstrate.”
An online video has been created about the £1m given to rescue services in England and Wales by The Freemasons’ Grand Charity since 2007. To watch it visit grandcharity.org/pages/ air_ambulance_charities.html.
