POLICE are appealing for information following an assault, which they believe was racially aggravated, took place on June 24 at 10.40pm outside Tennessee Chicken, in Victoria Road.
The victim was walking up to the premises when he noticed a group of between eight and 12 males. As he walked through the group one started making racist remarks before hitting the victim in the side of the head.
The victim managed to get into the premises before calling police. This prompted the suspect to run away.
The man police would like to speak to in connection with this incident is described as a white male, in his late 20s, about 6ft tall and of stocky build.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Thomas Fenwick on 101.
