AFTER a few weeks of speculation regarding new names arriving at the County Ground, we have five new signings we need to learn about before tomorrow’s game.

We also saw a couple of players moving onto pastures new, but before we look at outgoings, we’ll take a look at the new recruits for Paolo promotion push at SN1.

Darren Ward and John Bostock both arrived yesterday on loan deals till January 2013.

Federico Bessone, Adam Rooney and Giles Coke all joined the club today in a mad 24 hours for the club.
Bessone has signed on a six-month deal after being released by Swansea.

The 28-year-old Argentinean brings plenty of experience with him after playing in Spain for five years for three different clubs, which included Barcelona C, before joining Swansea in 2008.

After 37 games for the Swans over two spells, and a couple of loan moves to different clubs, Bessone signed for Town.

With Alessandro Cibocchi leaving a couple of weeks ago, Federico will fit nicely into the squad and be back up to 1st choice left back Jay McEveley.

Adam Rooney joins the club on a season long loan deal with a view to a permanent move next summer, with Paul Caddis moving in the opposite direction.

With the team performing brilliantly on the pitch the whole Caddis issue has been the only sour note in a successful start.

Apart from a dodgy start to his time at Town he was a big success at Swindon and his talent will be sorely missed, in defence and attack.

Adam Rooney joins the club after a slow start to his career at St. Andrews.

The young Irish striker was brought over to the UK by Stoke City in 2005, and was given a two-year contract.

But after failing to make an impression he was snapped up on a free by Inverness, and he had an excellent time in Scotland scoring 44 goals in 103 games for the club.

If he can replicate the form that he found in Scotland, we could have found a bargain for the upcoming season.

With Rooney, Collins, Williams, Benson and Storey all fighting it out for two starting spots, it will be interesting to see who gives way if Paolo wants to give Rooney a chance tomorrow.

Giles Coke joins the club from Sheff Weds on loan until January 2013; the midfielder signs for Town after a successful loan spell at Bury last season, and previously an even more impressive time at Motherwell.

I asked Sheffield Wednesday blogger Laura Jones on Twitter what to expect with Coke over the next few months.

“Brilliant on his day. Can score, tough tackler. Loses his head too quickly though. Can be petulant.”

That seems to be a common view on Giles Coke, he has plenty of natural talent but his attitude has let him down in the past.

As we know Paolo Di Canio doesn’t suffer fools lightly, so hopefully Giles can improve off the pitch as well as on it over his time at Swindon.

The last piece of transfer news was Oliver Risser leaving Town on loan to join fellow League One club Stevenage, with a view to a permanent move in the future.

The versatile Namibian had an decent first season in English football but this season he was always going to find it hard to get any first team football, his move makes sense with both parties.

From what I’m told he’s a genuine, nice guy and he deserves to be playing more regularly in the football league.

As we all know as Town fans that’s not the end of new faces coming into the club, with the free transfer and loan market opening up in the next couple of weeks.

So I expect we might see some more new faces come in before Christmas, especially another goalkeeper to act as cover to Wes Foderingham, unless Paolo has real faith in Leigh Bedwell.

Overall, Di Canio has once again added perfectly to the squad.

The biggest unknown personally is Bessone, so I look forward to seeing what he can bring to the first team this upcoming season.

The best piece of business could turn out to be the return of John Bostock.

Even though he was only around for a short spell last season you could see his brilliant ability with the ball at his feet, a real exciting player.
