Do you recognise suspected attacker in CCTV footage?
DETECTIVES have urged the public to help them identify two men suspected of a violent attack on two friends on a nightclub dancefloor.
The incident took place at 2am on Wednesday, June 20, at Casbah, in John Street, and police have so far been unable to identify the two men, caught on CCTV shortly before the assault.
The victim, a 24-year-old local man, was on the dancefloor of Casbah enjoying his night out when a black man in dark clothing punched him in the face, breaking his jaw.
The victim’s friend, also 24, followed the attacker outside and was then assaulted by him and another man – leaving the second victim with a broken jaw.
The first offender is described as white, short ginger hair, 26 to 27, of slim build, 6ft and wearing a light blue and white jumper with horizontal stripes, known to frequent Swindon town centre.
The second attacker is described as male, of mixed race, 6ft 2in tall and of muscular build, 24 to 25, with very short shaved hair, wearing a short-sleeved dark-coloured V-neck T-shirt with dark blue jeans.
PC Ben Collier said: “It is our opinion that someone must recognise or know these individuals.
“As always all information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
“This is a particular nasty assault which has left the victim with injuries amounting to grievous bodily harm.
“We have released these images in the hope that someone can assist with our inquiry.
“We do everything we can within Wiltshire Police to identify offenders of serious violent crime and will not accept that the offenders shall go unpunished.”
Anyone with information on the incident or the identities of the people involved is asked to contact PC Collier of Swindon Police on 101 ext 760 108 or call Crimestoppers, where you can leave information anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
