New firm on car dealer's site says it is there for community
A CAR dealership has moved on to the site of a former motor company under investigation by the police.
And its boss stresses that potential customers can have complete trust in his business.
Blackworth Car Sales has been bucking the national trend and is expanding this month.
This week Wiltshire Police put out an appeal after customers of Wiltshire Motor Company reported the disappearance of cars from the forecourt and a lack of staff on site.
The business had been on the site since November last year and, on its now defunct website, had claimed to have sold more than 1,000 vehicles.
It had been selling cars on behalf of individual vehicle owners and it is understood that complaints include purchased cars not being delivered.
Marcus Edginton, the director of Blackworth Car Sales, is hoping to draw a line under the company which used to own the site and show that his company is there for the community.
He said: “We can only say sorry for the people who been involved with that company. “The problem is people like them give us a bad name and we get tarred with the same brush.
“We have had people coming into us who have been left high and dry by this company.
“We want to draw a line under that and show that we are a good company with good ethics, who are going to be here for the next 10 years providing a high quality service.
“The current climate is one of uncertainty but we have proved through hard work that we can make the business work and we are going from strength to strength and are looking forward to this project.
“We have plans for a bistro cafe next door and creating allotments at the back, so we are here for the community and we have had a good response.”
Blackworth Car Sales will be opening its new premises on Saturday, September 29, with an open day.
